Losing Ground...

While tidying my room i came across one of my favorite books by photographer Donovan Wylie. Loosing Ground documents the lives of a group of new age travellers on their site in Gloucestershire in 1994, the location and atmostphere change in the second half of the book when they are moved on to a squat in Bethnal green. It fills me with sentimentality and a strange sense of longing for my childhood and our scummy ways of life...

A sculpture project i did as part of my art foundation in 2009.

measures approx 30x30cm round and is made up of 382 laser cut perspex triangles of two different sizes.

I spent over four days on gluing alone.
